4 Things to Do with the Kids in Tuscaloosa

Kid is surprised by what he sees in virtual reality

A parent’s job is never done. You have to keep the kids fed, educated, and clean. You need to teach them how to be good people, and you have to keep them entertained on top of all of that. It’s no wonder parents get so tired. Take some of the burden off your shoulders by taking them to one of these events in the Tuscaloosa area. Your kids will love the events, and you will be the hero for the day.

Weatherfest

Learn about everything related to weather by attending Weatherfest at the McWane Science Center. WBRC’s First Alert Weather Team will host the festival on April 29 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. You and the kiddos will get to see the tools they use to predict weather, and you can also meet the weather team.

Itty Bitty Magic City Birthday Party

Itty Bitty Magic City at the McWane Science Center is a favorite of kids in kindergarten and younger. It has physical, exploratory, constructive, and imaginative play. It’s a lot of fun, and it’s about to celebrate a birthday. It turns two on May 15, and the museum is throwing it a birthday party from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Itty Bitty Magic City Birthday Party will include programs your little ones are certain to love.

iTween Virtual Reality

Virtual reality is all the rage these days, and you can show your kids how cool you are by taking them to the iTween Virtual Reality event at Homewood Public Library. The event will take place on June 8 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. UAB’s Enabling Technology Lab will demonstrate a variety of scientific equipment and software. This will include virtual reality headsets. This event is open to kids in grades 4 through 7, and they need to register online.

Libraryflix – “The Sandlot”

Treat your kids to an old-school movie by attending Homewood Public Library’s Libraryflix showing of “The Sandlot.” The screening will be held on June 13 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. It is open to both kids and adults, so you can tag along for the fun.

These are all great activities, but there is one more thing you can add to your list. You can take your kids to Genesis of Tuscaloosa in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, so you can pick out a vehicle the entire family will love. These vehicles are luxurious and smooth, and they have everything a family needs for one fun adventure after the next.
